Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients quickly and accurately on arrival to determine severity and immediate needs
- Perform triage and provide emergency interventions to stabilize patients and reduce long-term harm
- Deliver advanced life support measures and follow ACLS, PALS, BLS protocols as required
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and other care team members to coordinate rapid care
- Document patient condition, treatments, and outcomes clearly and promptly in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on interventions, next steps, and follow-up care
- Maintain readiness by keeping certifications current and participating in unit-based improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Oklahoma state RN license or compact privilege (required)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience (required)
- Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications (required)
- TNCC preferred
- Recent traveler experience highly preferred
- Two supervisory reference forms dated within the last two years
- Up-to-date skills checklist (within 1 year) relevant to emergency nursing
- Candidates must provide permanent address (facility may consider local candidates differently)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and rapid triage skills
- Emergency care and advanced life support competencies
- Proficiency with NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Strong clinical decision-making in high-acuity situations
- Excellent documentation and time-management skills
- Teamwork and clear communication with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work independently while following facility protocols and physician orders
