Roles & Responsibilities

• Safely transfer and transport inpatients between units and procedures, treating each patient with care and respect
• Perform patient lifting and transfer using safe techniques and appropriate equipment
• Operate and maintain transport equipment such as Stryker stretchers, Hill-Rom beds, and wheelchairs
• Document transports and patient status clearly in Capacity Management EMR and on iMobile device
• Communicate effectively with RN teams, transport techs, and unit staff to coordinate timely moves
• Support unit flow and capacity management by responding to transport needs promptly
• Help maintain infection control and equipment cleanliness for patient safety
• Be a friendly, professional ambassador for Mission Hospital during every patient interaction

Qualifications

• Current LPN/LVN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (as listed in the posting)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Experience in Med-Surg or patient transport preferred
• Ability to safely lift and transfer patients using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable working night shifts and a rotating weekend schedule

Education

• Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN program and current LPN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Med-Surg clinical knowledge and patient care basics
• Patient lifting and transfer techniques and safety
• Basic Life Support skills and emergency awareness
• Familiarity with Capacity Management EMR and iMobile device workflows
• Equipment knowledge: Stryker stretchers, Hill-Rom beds, wheelchairs
• Clear, concise communication and teamwork abilities
• Good situational awareness and ability to prioritize transport requests
