Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents in the assigned unit
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to orders
- Perform timely patient assessments and monitor clinical status, reporting changes promptly
- Document care and observations thoroughly in the patient record to support continuity
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
- Support quality and safety initiatives to maintain high standards of care
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain one prior to start
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Comfort and experience working 12+ hour day shifts and scheduled weekend coverage
- Prior long-term care or rehab experience is a plus, travel LPN experience preferred
- Ability to complete facility onboarding and any required background checks or health screenings before start date
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) program
- Completion of state-required LPN licensure requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medication administration and documentation skills
- Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring
- Wound care and basic restorative nursing skills
- Infection control practices and safety-focused care
- Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
- Familiarity with electronic health records and charting best practices
