Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Bowie, MD
Shift Type: Schedule to be determined based on facility needs, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (Night shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting with dignity and compassion
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using recommended techniques and equipment
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Take and record basic vital signs and follow care plan documentation requirements
- Maintain a clean, comfortable and respectful environment for residents
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families and the care team to support continuity of care
- Participate in shift handoffs and documentation to ensure seamless resident care
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent in the applicable state
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Comfort working nights and supporting older adult populations
- Previous experience in long-term care or working with older adults preferred but not required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Compassionate resident-centered care and strong interpersonal skills
- Basic clinical skills such as vital signs, infection control and safe transfer techniques
- Reliable documentation and attention to detail
- Teamwork and clear communication with nursing staff and families
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
