Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients efficiently and warmly so each visit starts on the right note
• Obtain and document vital signs accurately, including pulse oximetry, height/weight, and temperature
• Perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory tests (glucometer, pregnancy, strep, urine dip) with care
• Prepare patients for exams by recording histories, current meds, and allergies
• Administer injections and immunizations (IM) safely and per protocol
• Obtain 12-lead EKGs and assist with routine clinical procedures as needed
• Chart visit details and orders in EPIC, ensuring accuracy and continuity of care
• Handle routine office duties like pharmacy refill requests and patient communication

Qualifications

• MA-C certification required (MA-R candidates will not be considered)
• Valid Washington state license in-hand at time of submission (no pending licenses)
• BLS certification required
• At least 6 months of MA-C experience (0.5 years) required; adult outpatient experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC charting is required
• Phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, and immunization experience are strongly desired (CMA preferred)
• Reliable personal transportation required (public transportation not acceptable)
• Willingness to be flexible on assignment details and open to temp-to-perm conversion

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of primary care clinic workflows and patient rooming
• Skilled in vital signs measurement, EKG acquisition, and basic point-of-care testing
• Proficient with EPIC charting and electronic documentation best practices
• Comfortable administering immunizations and intramuscular injections
• Able to set up aseptic/sterile trays and assist with minor procedures
• Strong communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple patient visits smoothly
