Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in a 52-bed ED
- Rapidly assess, triage and prioritize patients to ensure timely, lifesaving interventions
- Initiate IV starts and administer medications safely using Alaris infusion pumps
- Manage sedations and pediatric patients with confidence and compassion
- Document thoroughly and accurately in the Meditech EMR to support continuity of care
- Collaborate with physicians, midlevels, techs and unit staff to maintain smooth ED workflow
- Advocate for patient experience and safety while working effectively in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Kansas RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years RN experience, with Emergency Department experience preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (required)
- PALS and ENPC certifications (required)
- NIH Stroke Scale competency (NIH) required
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- TNCC and Meditech experience are nice-to-have
- Comfort working in large ED settings (52+ beds) and team nursing environments
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled at IV starts and medication administration
- Experience with sedation protocols and pediatric emergency care
- Proficient with Alaris infusion pumps and Meditech EMR
- Strong triage, assessment and critical thinking skills in ED workflow
- Excellent communication, teamwork and patient advocacy abilities
- Ability to maintain composure and prioritize in a fast-paced emergency setting
