Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
- Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices when needed
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and families through clear, respectful communication
- Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Demonstrated experience working with older adults in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred
- Able to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented mindset
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an accredited GNA training program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care
- Basic knowledge of vital sign monitoring and documentation
- Understanding of infection prevention and safety procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
- Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
- Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
