Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
• Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices when needed
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families through clear, respectful communication
• Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent (required)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Demonstrated experience working with older adults in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred
• Able to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented mindset

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care
• Basic knowledge of vital sign monitoring and documentation
• Understanding of infection prevention and safety procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
• Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
