Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead clinical operations and nursing staff to deliver compassionate, high-quality care
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance management for the nursing team
- Implement and monitor care standards, policies, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and facility leadership to improve resident outcomes
- Coach and mentor nurses and support professional development across the unit
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure documentation integrity
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (ability to obtain Maine RN license if not currently held)
- Proven leadership experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or an acute care setting
- Previous Director of Nursing or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of state and federal nursing regulations and CMS requirements
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and team-building skills
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; other certifications a plus
Education
- BSN preferred; ADN with commensurate leadership experience considered
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical leadership and staff development
- Regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and survey readiness
- Care coordination across multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
- Budget awareness, resource management, and scheduling optimization
- Strong interpersonal skills and resident-centered approach to care
