Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
- Support patient mobility, safe transfers, and fall prevention measures
- Take and record vital signs, observe changes, and promptly report concerns
- Assist nursing team with treatments and bedside care following care plans
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation to support continuity of care
- Adhere to infection control standards and promote a safe, clean environment
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (required)
- Authorization to practice in New Mexico or appropriate state documentation
- Previous experience in long-term care, rehab, or similar settings is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to manage physical demands of the role
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed approved CNA program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and patient hygiene needs
- Comfortable with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Able to take accurate vital signs and recognize basic changes in condition
- Familiarity with basic charting and following care plans
- Solid infection control practices and attention to detail
