Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour nights per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night). Day/Night option available. First week orientation is Mon-Fri day shift; schedule varies by unit with self-scheduling and variable weekends.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on Oncology and MedSurg Telemetry units, prioritizing safety and infection prevention
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to dysrhythmias and rapid response events
- Administer IV therapies, blood products, and central/PICC line care with strict adherence to protocols
- Safely administer and monitor chemotherapy when assigned to oncology patients, following institutional policies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory therapy, PT, and social work to optimize patient outcomes
- Perform thorough assessments, document in Epic, and communicate changes in condition to the care team
- Participate in unit-based initiatives to reduce patient falls and improve infection prevention practices
- Precept and support newer staff during orientation and bedside training shifts
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (able to practice in California) required
- Minimum 2 years of high-acuity MedSurg Telemetry or higher within the last 3 years, with at least 1 year of current specialty experience for clinical pass
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS required
- Oncology experience preferred but not required; OCN or ONS/ONCC are a plus
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Comfort working with telemetry monitoring, rapid response/code teams, and varied patient acuity
- Travel assignment experience preferred
Education
- Active RN license required (California)
- Additional oncology certifications (OCN, ONS/ONCC) are preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- High-acuity MedSurg and PCU/stepdown skills
- IV therapy, PICC/central line care, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
- Chemotherapy administration and monitoring (preferred)
- Familiarity with Alaris pumps, GE telemetry monitor system, and common inpatient equipment
- Respiratory support knowledge including HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube and tracheostomy care
- Experience with infection prevention protocols, fall prevention, and emergency response
- Ability to triage, prioritize, and collaborate in a fast-paced oncology acute care environment
