Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care as a licensed vocational nurse in a correctional healthcare setting
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document according to facility policy
• Perform focused assessments and report changes in patient condition promptly to the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and security staff to ensure safe, effective patient care
• Participate in orientation and training to maintain competency and adherence to facility protocols
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic and paper medical records

Qualifications

• Valid California LVN license (required)
• Willingness to complete a 2-week orientation (Mon-Fri) as part of onboarding
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Ability to work the posted schedule: Sun, Mon, Thu, Fri, Sat, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and patient populations
• Willingness to complete any facility-required clearances and trainings

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Vocational Nursing (LVN) program

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical skills typical of an LVN including medication administration and basic assessments
• Familiarity with documentation and charting best practices
• Ability to follow established protocols in a secure/correctional healthcare environment
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills
• Comfort working in structured, safety-focused settings
