Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality med-surg and telemetry nursing care for adults, managing patient assignments at a 1:5-6 ratio
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret telemetry data, and intervene appropriately to keep patients safe
• Accurately document care and assessments in Epic to ensure continuity across shifts
• Administer medications and treatments in line with facility protocols and ACLS/BLS guidance
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, escalating changes in patient condition promptly
• Deliver patient and family education with empathy, helping them understand care plans and discharge needs
• Float between similar units when required to support staffing and maintain patient care standards

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state(s) required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Comfort and experience working night shifts and managing a 1:5-6 patient ratio
• First-time travel nurses welcome — enthusiastic new travelers encouraged to apply
• Ability to float within scope to similar units as needed
• Willingness to provide interview availability upon submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition skills
• Solid med-surg assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Proficient charting in Epic and accurate clinical documentation
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced Level III Trauma Center
• Time management and prioritization for 12-hour night shifts
• Familiarity with hospital protocols, patient safety practices, and emergency response
