Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents by assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe transfers and proper use of assistive devices to promote independence
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident observations
- Help create a clean, comfortable environment and adhere to infection control standards
- Collaborate with nurses and therapists to follow care plans and deliver quality rehabilitation support
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) required
- Eligibility for or current New Mexico CNA listing/license preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
- Previous experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or similar setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant training program and CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Vital signs monitoring and basic clinical observation
- Infection prevention and safe patient handling techniques
- Basic charting and documentation practices (paper or electronic)
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to de-escalate and comfort patients
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced care environment
