Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to assigned residents
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Perform routine assessments and document patient status clearly and timely
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate care plans and follow-up
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and follow infection control protocols
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain clinical competency
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff

Qualifications

• Active California LVN license (Licensed Vocational Nurse)
• Willingness and ability to work the posted evening schedule (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) on Sun, Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat
• Ability to complete the 2-week Monday-Friday orientation
• Comfort working in a correctional facility setting (position located at Ironwood State Prison)
• Reliable, professional, and team-oriented attitude

Education

• Completion of an accredited Vocational Nursing (LVN) program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fundamentals in medication administration and documentation
• Basic nursing assessment and monitoring skills
• Familiarity with standard infection control and patient safety practices
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients and team members
• Ability to follow policies and procedures in a structured facility environment
• Good time management and prioritization during busy shifts
