Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment safely and effectively in OR, ED, inpatient and portable settings
- Evaluate images for technical quality and collaborate with radiologists to ensure diagnostic accuracy
- Provide portable radiography in various patient care areas with attention to safety and infection control
- Float between departments as assigned to support staffing needs and continuity of care
- Participate in student supervision and perform competency checkoffs for radiography students
- Complete required mask fit testing and adhere to all safety protocols
- Be willing to learn pediatric and neonatal imaging techniques and apply them with care
- Document imaging and workflow in EPIC and use Sectra for image access and communication
Qualifications
- ARRT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Graduate of a JRCERT/ARRT-approved program
- Minimum 1 year level 1 trauma experience OR 2-3 years at a large bed trauma level 2 facility (explicit requirement)
- Comfortable working in OR, ED, inpatient units and performing portable radiography
- Mask fit testing required prior to assignment
- Willingness to learn pediatric and neonatal imaging
- Experience with EPIC and Sectra preferred
Education
- Graduate of a JRCERT/ARRT-approved radiography program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in radiography and fluoroscopy techniques
- Image evaluation for technical quality and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record workflows
- Experience with Sectra PACS for image retrieval and review
- Hands-on knowledge of GE, Philips and CareStream imaging equipment
- Adaptability to float across departments and manage changing priorities
- Student supervision and competency checkoff experience
