Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing function using evidence-based tools
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that aim for meaningful functional gains
• Collaborate daily with nurses, therapists, physicians and families to coordinate care and discharge planning
• Document progress clearly and timely in the patient record and contribute to team treatment goals
• Provide education and training to patients, families and caregivers to support carryover of strategies
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute clinical expertise to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent)
• Active Massachusetts SLP license or ability to obtain state licensure
• ASHA CCC-SLP credential preferred or in progress
• Experience working in inpatient rehab, acute care or skilled nursing settings is a strong plus
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and a team-player attitude
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in dysphagia evaluation and management, including clinical bedside assessments
• Proficient with speech, language and cognitive-communication treatment approaches
• Comfortable with goal writing, outcome measurement and progress documentation
• Effective communicator with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with electronic health records and therapeutic billing/documentation practices
