Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including bathing, dressing, and assistance with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe use of assistive devices to promote independence
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in the resident record
- Communicate proactively with nurses, therapists, and families to support coordinated care
- Observe and report any behavioral or clinical changes to ensure resident safety
- Help create a warm, dignified environment that respects resident preferences and privacy
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant)
- State of New Mexico CNA certification or ability to obtain state authorization as required
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification if required by facility
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
- Comfortable working 12+ hour day shifts and supporting a fast-paced care environment
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong fundamentals in resident care and comfort measures
- Proficient in taking vital signs and recognizing changes in condition
- Able to assist with ADLs, transfers, and mobility safely
- Good documentation skills and attention to detail
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and team members
- Team player attitude with a focus on resident-centered care
