Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care including hygiene, mobility assistance, and activities of daily living
- Monitor and record basic patient observations such as vital signs and report changes promptly
- Assist the care team by following care plans and communicating patient needs clearly
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients
- Document patient interactions and care accurately in the chart or electronic record
- Support a positive patient experience through respectful, dignified care and good communication
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) in good standing
- Current listing on the New Mexico CNA registry or proof of eligibility
- Previous patient care experience preferred but new grads are welcome to apply
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass facility background checks and required screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Required: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care skills and comfort assisting with activities of daily living
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Good verbal communication and teamwork skills
- Basic charting and documentation skills, plus attention to detail
- Compassionate bedside manner and ability to prioritize patient dignity
