Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during overnight hours
- Assess and monitor patients, recognizing and escalating changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time
- Document patient care thoroughly in the chart, keeping the team informed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, effective care
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers to keep patient flow moving
- Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and assist with stabilization
Qualifications
- Active LPN or RN license (able to practice as the role requires)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Comfortable working overnight/extended shifts as part of a travel assignment
- Previous acute care or long-term care experience preferred
- Ability to complete a 12-week travel assignment and comply with facility onboarding
Education
- LPN: Practical Nursing diploma or certificate
- RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with common overnight acute care duties and triage
- Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Basic EHR/charting skills and accurate clinical documentation
- Ability to adapt quickly to new units and facility protocols
