Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic exams across OR, ED, inpatient and portable settings
- Operate radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment safely and competently
- Evaluate images for technical quality and collaborate with radiologists to ensure diagnostic excellence
- Float between departments as assigned to meet patient care needs
- Provide intraoperative imaging support in the OR with attention to sterile technique and team coordination
- Document procedures and patient care accurately in EPIC and image management in Sectra
- Mentor and precept students, including performing competency check-offs with Grady students
- Maintain radiation safety standards and equipment care to protect patients and staff
Qualifications
- BLS certification required
- ARRT certification required
- Graduated from a JRCERT/ARRT-approved radiography program
- Minimum 1 year level 1 trauma experience OR 2-3 years at a large bed trauma level 2 facility
- Comfortable and experienced with OR imaging and general X-ray; willing to learn pediatrics and neonates
- Experience with portable imaging, ED imaging, and inpatient imaging
- Familiarity with EPIC and Sectra strongly preferred
Education
- Graduate of a JRCERT/ARRT-approved radiography program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of radiography and fluoroscopy techniques and safety
- Skilled in image quality evaluation and patient positioning
- Experience operating GE, Philips and CareStream imaging equipment
- Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records and Sectra image systems
- Ability to function in high-acuity trauma environments and prioritize under pressure
- Comfortable teaching, precepting students, and performing competency assessments
- Ability to float between departments and adapt quickly to changing clinical needs
