Shift Type: Night, 4x12-hour (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), typically 4 nights per week with every-other-weekend required
Hours per Week: 48
Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patient condition on the medical-surgical/telemetry unit, maintaining safe care at a 1:5-6 ratio
- Interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms to identify and escalate changes in patient status
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to policy
- Document care thoroughly and promptly in Epic, ensuring continuity and quality
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
- Provide clear patient and family education to support recovery and reduce readmissions
- Float within scope to like units as needed to meet facility staffing needs
- Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of patient safety
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state authorization required prior to start; pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Charting experience in Epic is required
- Comfortable working night shifts and able to cover every-other-weekend
- Able and willing to float between similar units when needed
- First-time travel nurses are welcome
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
- Proficient with Epic electronic health record documentation
- Solid medication administration and IV skills
- Excellent clinical assessment and prioritization abilities
- Teamwork-oriented with clear communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently during high-acuity periods in a Level III trauma/teaching hospital environment
