Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum nursing care in a family-centered environment
- Manage newborn care immediately after delivery and support early postpartum bonding and education
- Perform assessments, interventions, and monitoring for patients across LDRP and GYN surgical care
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and pediatric staff to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes
- Document patient care accurately and communicate changes in condition to the care team
- Support and educate patients and families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn needs
- Respond effectively to emergency situations using ACLS, PALS and other required protocols
Qualifications
- Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required upon submission
- Healthcare Provider BLS required
- AHA ACLS and PALS required for AGH LDRP
- NRP and STABLE preferred (strongly desired)
- Comfortable providing care across labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum and newborn care
- Ability to work nights and cover every 3rd weekend as scheduled
Knowledge & Skills
- Labor and Delivery best practices and LDRP workflow
- Postpartum care and newborn assessment and stabilization
- GYN surgical care familiarity
- Pediatrics fundamentals as they relate to newborn transitions
- Critical thinking and rapid response skills for obstetric and neonatal emergencies
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients and multidisciplinary teams
