Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity, prescription, and chart information before each treatment to ensure safety
• Explain treatment plans and safety procedures to patients, maintaining clear communication throughout care
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment, including immobilization devices and field settings, to deliver precise therapy
• Operate Varian TrueBeam and perform CT simulation procedures with attention to accuracy and safety
• Perform routine safety checks on equipment and escalate concerns to the supervising physician or lead
• Maintain thorough documentation in Meditech and ARIA to support continuity of care
• Observe and report skin changes or side effects to the treatment team to support patient well-being
• Participate in quality improvement activities and follow department policies to continuously enhance care

Qualifications

• Current ARRT (T) registration as a Radiation Therapist (required)
• BLS certification meeting American Heart Association Healthcare Provider standards (current)
• Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program (required)
• Proven ability to operate Varian TrueBeam and perform CT simulation
• Experience with ARIA and Meditech documentation systems is highly preferred
• Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach

Education

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiation Therapy

• Radiation therapy treatment delivery and patient identification best practices
• CT simulation techniques and operation of simulation equipment
• Use of Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator
• Radiation safety principles for patients and staff
• Immobilization device setup and maintenance
• Clinical documentation workflows in ARIA and Meditech
• Scheduling, clerical duties, and department efficiency practices
• Quality improvement processes and safety checks
