Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in delivering skilled treatment plans to patients
- Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions and progress patients toward their goals
- Perform patient care tasks including transfers, gait training, and therapeutic exercise instruction
- Document patient treatment, progress, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and clinical safety standards at all times
Qualifications
- Licensed or certified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in California, or eligible to obtain licensure
- Available to start ASAP (position begins 2026-01-28)
- Able to commit to a 13-week contract with a 30-hour/week guarantee
- Strong patient care skills and a compassionate, team-oriented approach
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or obtained promptly upon hire
Education
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting (A.S.) or equivalent accredited PTA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Practical knowledge of therapeutic exercise, modalities, and mobility training
- Skilled in patient assessment, documentation, and treatment progression
- Comfortable working with a diverse adult patient population
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Familiarity with infection control and clinical safety procedures
