Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled physical therapy assistance across outpatient, inpatient, swing bed, and home health settings
- Implement treatment plans under the direction of a supervising PT and document patient progress accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises, safety, and home programs to support recovery
- Maintain clinical equipment, ensure a safe treatment environment, and follow infection control practices
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, caregivers, and clinical staff to optimize outcomes
Qualifications
- Current LPTA license in the applicable state (required)
- CPR certification (required)
- Comfortable using basic computer systems for documentation and scheduling
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a patient-first attitude
- Experience or comfort working in outpatient and inpatient settings; home health and swing bed experience a plus
- Spanish language skills are a plus but not required
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program (Associate degree or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care across outpatient, inpatient, swing bed, and home health environments
- Skilled in implementing PT treatment plans and documenting outcomes
- CPR and basic emergency response knowledge
- Proficiency with electronic documentation and common clinic software
- Strong communication, patient education, and teamwork abilities
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to engage patients from diverse backgrounds
