Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy assistance across outpatient, inpatient, swing bed, and home health settings
• Implement treatment plans under the direction of a supervising PT and document patient progress accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises, safety, and home programs to support recovery
• Maintain clinical equipment, ensure a safe treatment environment, and follow infection control practices
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, caregivers, and clinical staff to optimize outcomes

Qualifications

• Current LPTA license in the applicable state (required)
• CPR certification (required)
• Comfortable using basic computer systems for documentation and scheduling
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a patient-first attitude
• Experience or comfort working in outpatient and inpatient settings; home health and swing bed experience a plus
• Spanish language skills are a plus but not required

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program (Associate degree or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care across outpatient, inpatient, swing bed, and home health environments
• Skilled in implementing PT treatment plans and documenting outcomes
• CPR and basic emergency response knowledge
• Proficiency with electronic documentation and common clinic software
• Strong communication, patient education, and teamwork abilities
• Cultural sensitivity and the ability to engage patients from diverse backgrounds
