Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients
• Perform thorough assessments and develop timely nursing interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate effective patient care
• Document patient status and care provided clearly in the electronic health record
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and escalate concerns to providers promptly
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and safe discharge plans
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and promoting best practices

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — ability to practice in Tennessee or appropriate compact/reciprocal licensure preferred
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with recent experience in Medical-Surgical nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Strong clinical assessment skills and experience with medication administration
• Reliable, professional, and able to adapt to unit-specific workflows quickly

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Proficient with electronic health record documentation and clinical charting
• Skilled in patient assessment, triage, and clinical decision-making
• IV therapy and medication administration competence
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management abilities
