Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry continuously and respond proactively to rhythm changes
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for telemetry patients, including medication administration and IV therapy
- Perform thorough assessments and document patient status and interventions in the EHR
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions to support recovery
- Prioritize patient safety by recognizing and escalating changes in condition promptly
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and contribute to a positive team culture
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas or multistate compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience (per posting requirement)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred
- Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry equipment
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work independently on night shifts
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to meet employer onboarding requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac monitoring and telemetry rhythm interpretation
- Medication administration and IV management
- Patient assessment and critical thinking in acute care settings
- Electronic health record (EHR) documentation and charting accuracy
- Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
- Time management and prioritization under fast-paced conditions
