Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered Med-Surg nursing care with compassion and clinical confidence
- Perform thorough assessments, monitor patient status, and escalate changes promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately following facility protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans
- Document care clearly and timely in the electronic health record to support continuity
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Support unit flow by prioritizing tasks, coordinating admissions/discharges, and assisting colleagues
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the facility/state
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg nursing experience
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain per facility policy
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative attitude
- Ability to pass facility orientation and credentialing for a travel assignment
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid Med-Surg clinical knowledge including assessments, meds, and post-op care
- Medication administration and safe IV/infusion practices
- Proficient charting and documentation in electronic health record systems
- Patient education and family communication
- Ability to triage, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced unit
- Teamwork and collaboration across nursing and ancillary staff
