Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered Med-Surg nursing care with compassion and clinical confidence
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor patient status, and escalate changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately following facility protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans
• Document care clearly and timely in the electronic health record to support continuity
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Support unit flow by prioritizing tasks, coordinating admissions/discharges, and assisting colleagues

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the facility/state
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg nursing experience
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain per facility policy
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative attitude
• Ability to pass facility orientation and credentialing for a travel assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med-Surg clinical knowledge including assessments, meds, and post-op care
• Medication administration and safe IV/infusion practices
• Proficient charting and documentation in electronic health record systems
• Patient education and family communication
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced unit
• Teamwork and collaboration across nursing and ancillary staff
