Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate bedside nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor EKG/telemetry
• Administer and manage IV therapy, central lines, and tube feedings safely
• Deliver wound care and assist with procedures such as bedside lumbar punctures
• Insert and manage Foley catheters as clinically indicated
• Document patient care accurately in the Meditech electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and unit staff to develop and execute care plans
• Advocate for patients and family members while maintaining infection-control standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in VA or via compact where applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (Med-Surg experience preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Hands-on experience with Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and neurological assessments
• Experience with central lines, wound care, tube feedings, and Foley catheter procedures
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, compassion, and reliability for weekend rotations
