Shift Type: Rotating nights: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), every third weekend (night shift/rotating schedule)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered oncology nursing care on a 25-bed Oncology Care Unit
- Access and manage portacaths safely and confidently, or learn the technique with on-site guidance
- Document all patient care accurately in Meditech to ensure continuity and quality
- Monitor and respond to patient condition changes, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate patient ratios (typically 1:4–1:5) while delivering high-quality assessments and interventions
- Support unit initiatives such as new equipment adoption and updated clinical workflows
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (oncology experience preferred)
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Portacath access skills preferred, or willingness to learn and be trained on site
- Familiarity with Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems
- Comfort and ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in rotating weekend coverage
Education
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) and active RN license
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong oncology nursing knowledge and patient assessment skills
- Competence or willingness to learn portacath access and vascular access care
- Proficient documentation skills in Meditech or equivalent EMR
- Ability to manage multiple patients with safe clinical decision-making
- Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital unit
