Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations to inform care plans
- Provide individual and group therapy tailored to the needs of the correctional population
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans and monitor progress
- Perform risk assessments and crisis intervention to ensure safety and stability
- Collaborate with correctional staff and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and comply with facility protocols
- Contribute to program development, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred
- Licensed Psychologist in California, or license-eligible with plan to obtain licensure
- Experience or strong interest in correctional, forensic, or behavioral health settings preferred
- Demonstrated skills in assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based psychotherapy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clinical documentation and team collaboration
- Ability to pass facility-required background checks and comply with institutional policies
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in clinical assessment tools and psychological testing
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic modalities
- Familiarity with risk assessment and suicide prevention strategies
- Ability to adapt interventions to a correctional environment
- Strong case formulation, treatment planning, and progress-monitoring skills
- Comfortable collaborating with security staff and multidisciplinary teams
