Shift Type: Rotating shifts with varied starts including weekends; primary shift times: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM (day), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (evening), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (night). Includes call (1x/week, 8-hour call shifts 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM on weekdays and 8-hour weekend call) and every-other-week (EOW) call coverage. Shift type: rotating (day/evening/night).

Candidate Pay Rate: $30 - $35 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and instrumentation so each case runs smoothly
- Maintain a strict sterile field and ensure infection control standards are met
- Pass instruments and supplies efficiently, anticipating the surgeon’s needs
- Perform instrument counts and document accurately for patient safety
- Assist across trauma, orthopedics, vascular, and general surgery cases
- Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia to deliver excellent care
- Participate in turnover and room setup to maximize OR throughput
- Support quality improvement and adhere to hospital protocols and policies
Qualifications
- NBSTSA certification (required)
- Current BLS certification (required)
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent credential
- Prior OR/acute care experience preferred, with exposure to trauma, ortho, vascular, and general cases
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and participate in call rotations
- Professional, team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
- Proficiency with surgical counts and OR documentation
- Familiarity with trauma, orthopedic, vascular, and general surgical procedures
- Ability to anticipate clinician needs and work calmly under pressure
- Good teamwork, communication, and time-management skills
- Basic familiarity with electronic health record documentation preferred
