Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, skilled physical therapy interventions under PTA scope to help patients regain mobility and independence
- Assist therapists with therapeutic exercise programs and hands-on treatments to drive meaningful patient progress
- Monitor and document patient responses, outcomes, and progress notes accurately and timely
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans tailored to each patient
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and functional strategies to maximize recovery
- Maintain a safe, organized treatment area and ensure appropriate use of assistive devices and equipment
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Maryland or eligible for Maryland licensure
- Graduate of an accredited PTA program (Associate degree or equivalent)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain prior to start)
- Comfortable working a consistent day shift schedule and delivering patient-centered care
- Reliable, professional, and ready to start the 15-week assignment beginning Feb 2, 2026
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate degree or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, and patient handling
- Strong clinical documentation and time-management skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with patients and families
- Familiarity with common outpatient/inpatient rehab equipment and safety protocols
- Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to support varying patient needs
