Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage incoming patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced ER environment
• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to stabilize patients
• Administer medications and treatments safely following facility protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and aftercare plans
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California required
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or required depending on unit needs
• Previous emergency department experience preferred (per diem-friendly to experienced RNs)
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-moving team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or BSN; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency nursing assessment
• IV insertion, medication administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with electronic health records and charting best practices
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and clinical teams
• Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-acuity situations
