Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and act promptly on changes
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to telemetry patients
- Administer medications and document interventions accurately
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team on care plans
- Perform focused assessments and escalate changes in patient status
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
Qualifications
- Current RN license (California RN license required if working in-state)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Experience working on a telemetry unit or with cardiac monitoring preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry equipment
- Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care basics
- Knowledge of acute care nursing documentation and electronic health records
- Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond in high-acuity situations
- Comfortable working autonomously during night shifts
