Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care on the telemetry unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to changes in telemetry
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to orders and protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and other nurses to coordinate care plans
• Document patient status, interventions, and responses accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and discharge planning
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — California license required
• Telemetry experience or comfort with cardiac monitoring (prior telemetry floor experience preferred)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or obtainable upon hire
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work nights and adapt to per-diem scheduling needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in telemetry rhythm recognition and cardiac monitoring principles
• Skilled in patient assessment, IV therapy, and medication administration
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and charting
• Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies
• Ability to respond effectively in emergent situations and escalate appropriately
