Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients and residents during night shifts
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) with dignity
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition, including vital signs
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the nursing team
- Support patient mobility and fall prevention efforts to keep people safe
- Help create a calm, reassuring nighttime environment to promote rest and recovery
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — California preferred or eligible
- Comfortable and experienced working 12-hour night shifts
- CPR/BLS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and able to handle physical aspects of patient care
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADLs and patient hygiene assistance
- Basic vital signs monitoring and charting
- Understanding of infection control and safety protocols
- Good clinical observation and reporting to licensed nurses
- Time management during busy night shifts
- Compassionate bedside manner and patient advocacy
