Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered telemetry nursing care throughout your shift
- Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and recognize/respond to rhythm changes
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly
- Perform accurate assessments and escalate changes in condition in a timely manner
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge plans
- Maintain meticulous electronic health record documentation and handoff communications
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policies to protect patients and team members
Qualifications
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligible to obtain one
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Telemetry experience or demonstrated competency with cardiac monitoring preferred
- Comfortable with electronic charting and standard bedside monitoring equipment
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective interdisciplinary care
- Ability to work per diem schedule and report on the assigned date
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms
- Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs, and early recognition of clinical deterioration
- Medication administration and IV site management
- Proficient with electronic health records and accurate documentation
- Infection control practices and patient safety protocols
- Effective communication with patients, families, and the care team
- Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
