Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered telemetry nursing care throughout your shift
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and recognize/respond to rhythm changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly
• Perform accurate assessments and escalate changes in condition in a timely manner
• Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge plans
• Maintain meticulous electronic health record documentation and handoff communications
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policies to protect patients and team members

Qualifications

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligible to obtain one
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Telemetry experience or demonstrated competency with cardiac monitoring preferred
• Comfortable with electronic charting and standard bedside monitoring equipment
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective interdisciplinary care
• Ability to work per diem schedule and report on the assigned date

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms
• Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs, and early recognition of clinical deterioration
• Medication administration and IV site management
• Proficient with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Infection control practices and patient safety protocols
• Effective communication with patients, families, and the care team
• Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
