Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care to adult patients with cardiac monitoring needs
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a timely, evidence-based way
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret telemetry strips, and escalate changes appropriately
- Administer medications and IV therapies safely and in accordance with orders
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members and patients' families
- Document patient status and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure smooth patient flow
- Contribute to a culture of safety by following protocols and reporting concerns
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or compact state eligibility as required
- Telemetry nursing experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Current immunizations and compliance with facility health requirements
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in cardiac rhythm recognition and telemetry monitoring
- Comfortable with IV medications, infusion pumps, and common nursing equipment
- Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
- Solid patient assessment and prioritization skills
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in urgent situations
- Good time management and multitasking in a fast-paced environment
