Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any concerns to nursing staff
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and safe use of assistive devices
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients
• Document care and communicate clearly with nurses and the interdisciplinary team
• Support infection control practices and follow facility protocols
• Preserve patient dignity and promote independence whenever possible
• Respond promptly and professionally to patient needs and requests

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (California preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification as required by facility
• Ability to work a 12-hour day shift and reliably arrive on scheduled dates
• Current immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous experience in a long-term care or acute care setting is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient handling, transfers, and safe body mechanics
• Knowledgeable about basic infection control and hygiene practices
• Comfortable taking vital signs and observing patient condition
• Familiarity with electronic charting and basic documentation
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills with patients and families
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
