Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with daily living activities
- Monitor patients and report changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning according to care plans
- Support hygiene, dressing, feeding, and toileting while preserving dignity
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with the care team
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
- Build trusting relationships with patients and families through respectful interactions
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification in the state of California
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated experience providing direct patient care, preferred
- Ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to per diem scheduling
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with basic clinical tasks such as vital signs, ADLs, and patient transfers
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation
- Ability to follow care plans and facility protocols
- Empathy and patience when working with diverse patient populations
