Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care in the emergency department during assigned per diem shifts
- Perform rapid triage and prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced ER environment
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures following facility protocols
- Communicate clearly and professionally with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
- Promote patient safety, infection control, and comfort while maintaining situational awareness
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse — current active RN status (California licensure preferred)
- Experience working in an Emergency Room (ER) environment
- Ability to work the specified per diem shift on 2026-03-14 (Saturday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; advanced certifications (ACLS/PALS) a plus
- Strong clinical assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced settings
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency triage and rapid assessment
- Stabilization and basic emergency interventions
- Proficient clinical documentation and EHR use
- Effective patient and family education under stress
- Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks
- Collaborative teamwork and clear handoff communication
