Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients promptly and accurately to prioritize care in a busy emergency environment
• Deliver evidence-based nursing interventions and monitor patient responses to treatments
• Establish and maintain IV access, administer medications, and manage acute clinical needs
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate efficient patient flow
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient status clearly and timely in the electronic record
• Provide compassionate patient and family education during fast-paced encounters
• Respond to emergency codes and crisis situations with calm, competent action

Qualifications

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Comfortable and experienced working in emergency nursing or acute care settings
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to per diem scheduling needs
• Excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required/preferred depending on facility policies

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in triage, rapid assessment, and prioritization of emergency patients
• Competent in IV therapy, medication administration, wound care, and basic procedures
• Familiarity with electronic charting systems and accurate clinical documentation
• Strong situational awareness, delegation, and the ability to work under pressure
• Customer-focused bedside manner while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced unit
