Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced emergency setting
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care, administer medications, and manage IV therapy
- Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and the ED team to coordinate patient care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
- Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care
- Maintain readiness of emergency equipment and supplies to support rapid response
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — California license preferred
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
- Prior emergency department experience preferred; confident with fast-paced triage
- Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and effective communication skills
- Ability to pass facility credentialing and background checks
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency assessment and triage principles
- IV insertion, medication administration, and trauma care basics
- Familiarity with ED workflows and rapid decision-making
- Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
- Teamwork, patient advocacy, and clear bedside communication
