Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a high-acuity ER setting
- Provide evidence-based nursing care, including medication administration and wound care
- Initiate and manage emergency interventions in collaboration with the care team
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record system
- Communicate effectively with physicians, specialists, and families to coordinate care
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license (California) — must be able to practice in CA
- Experience in Emergency Room nursing or equivalent high-acuity experience
- BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and overnight assignments
- Current immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
- Excellent assessment, prioritization, and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong triage and emergency assessment skills
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication administration proficiency
- Familiarity with emergency protocols and rapid response procedures
- Comfortable with electronic health records (EHR) charting
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and time management
