Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
- Assist patients with mobility and safe transfers, prioritizing comfort and dignity
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and patient observations
- Support infection control practices and keep patient areas clean and safe
- Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and the care team
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
- Valid state authorization to practice in California (or eligibility to obtain)
- Comfort with overnight/night shift responsibilities and working independently
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient hygiene and personal care best practices
- Accurate vital signs measurement and documentation
- Basic understanding of infection prevention and safety protocols
- Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Time management and ability to prioritize patient needs
