Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the telemetry unit
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly report abnormalities
- Perform thorough assessments and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team and patients’ families
- Document care and patient status with attention to detail and compliance
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (California licensure required or valid compact license)
- Experience or comfort working on a telemetry unit
- Ability to work per diem shifts on specified dates and times
- Strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification (if required by facility)
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Medication administration and IV therapy fundamentals
- Clear, timely documentation and handoff communication
- Teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Adaptability to changing patient acuity and unit needs
