Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry to detect changes in patient condition
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for telemetry patients
- Administer medications and treatments safely, following hospital protocols
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and families to optimize care
- Respond promptly to alarms and clinical changes with appropriate interventions
- Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, medications, and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Current RN license (eligible to practice in California)
- Telemetry experience or comfort with cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Clean background and ability to meet facility credentialing requirements
- Professional communication skills and proven teamwork on nursing units
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in cardiac telemetry monitoring and recognizing arrhythmias
- Skilled in medication administration and IV therapy basics
- Comfortable using electronic medical records for charting and orders
- Strong clinical judgment, situational awareness, and rapid decision-making
- Excellent communication and bedside manner with patients and families
- Ability to work independently on night shift and escalate concerns appropriately
