Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry leads and cardiac rhythms closely to detect changes early
- Perform focused patient assessments and escalate concerns to the care team
- Administer medications safely and document accurately in the chart
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and other nurses to coordinate care
- Provide clear patient and family education about condition, meds, and next steps
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and handoffs for continuity of care
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers while ensuring patient safety
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in California (required)
- Telemetry experience or comfort interpreting cardiac rhythms
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or required depending on assignment
- Current immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
- Reliable clinical judgment, strong communication, and a patient-centered attitude
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Patient assessment and early recognition of deterioration
- Experience with electronic health records and documentation
- IV therapy and safe medication administration
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced setting
