Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for patients during the overnight shift
- Assess, monitor, and document patient status, reporting changes promptly
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to orders
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families with clear, empathetic communication
- Support unit flow by managing admissions, discharges, and handoffs smoothly
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (required)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS and other advanced certs welcome
- Prior acute care or hospital nursing experience preferred, especially with overnight shifts
- Comfortable with electronic health records and bedside documentation
- Strong clinical assessment, time management, and communication skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required/preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Knowledgeable in medication administration and IV therapy
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients safely overnight
- Familiarity with infection control practices and hospital protocols
- Compassionate bedside manner with clear, professional communication
